Rémy Martin Grande Champagne Age Inconnu (age unknown) is the oldest quality Cognac supplied by Rémy Martin. The original concept dates back to June 13th, 1874, when Paul-Emile Remy Martin officially registered the brandname of “Louis XIII Tres Grande Champagne – Age Unknown”. Age Inconnu is a blend of 1200 different eau-de-vie meticulously aged between 40 and 100 years, the name under which Louis XIII decanters where sold until around 1962. Age Inconnu remained available in regular bottles until the end of the 1970’s.

Description

Rémy Martin is one of the four biggest Cognac houses, founded in 1724 by French winemaker Rémy Martin. Until the 1920’s Rémy Martin played a modest role in the world of Cognac but this changed with the introduction of Rémy Martin VSOP in 1927. Cognac Rémy Martin contains only grapes from the two most appreaised terroirs: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne.
