Yamazaki 2013 Sherry Cask, limited to 18000 bottles, could be considered a game changer. After it received 100 points from Murray prices exploded and many other Japanese whiskies where pulled along.

The Arita and Kutani ceramic decanters were an annual limited release from Suntory, bottled between 2001 and 2014. Each one contains their exceptional Hibiki 21 year old blend, which contains malt from their Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, and grain from the Chita distillery. Arita and Kutani are the pre-eminent ceramic houses in Japan, both located on the islad of Kyushu. Each year, both houses designed a decanter each, and they are all hand-painted.

This is the Kutaniyaki 2005 release, bottled for the year 2006.

This decanter was released in 2010 in honor of the 50th anniversary of Video Promotions Inc., containing a blend of 20 year old Chita Grain Whisky and 50 year (!) old Yamazaki, distilled in 1960.

This very special Yamazaki was bottled in 2011 in commemoration of the 55th anniversary of the Arima Kinen horse race, held annually since December 1956. Its label depicts a pair of Inu (dogs), one of the twelve signs of the Japanese zodiac.

The Hakushu distillery is owned by the Suntory group, and situated in the Toribara locality of the former town of Hakushu, in the Yamanashi Prefecture, Chubu region, Japan. This 25 year old Hakushu Limited Edition has a Special design epitomizing the Japanese Hospitality. Labeled with Echizen Washi (traditional paper) depicting the mountains forests of Hakushu, and also comes in a Paulownia wood box, worthy for even the best. Sealed with a five-cord "Mizuhiki" symbolizing the human hand - joining the hands and heart of the giver with the recipient, this design is the essence of Japanese hospitality."

This Yoichi 1987 Vintage Single Malt is a limited edition, a blend of 3 whiskies aged for 20 years: one light peated malt with Refill Cask maturation, one heavily peated malt aged in a new Cask and one whisky which matured in a sherry cask.

This is a true rarity: Ichiro's Malt Chichibu newborn Mizunara, bottled at the end of 2008 with spirit aged for 10 months in a Mizunara cask. The front label does indicate this is a blended malt whisky but naturally that's not the case considering this has been aged for just 10 months.

This Suntory Yamazaki Pure Malt was released June 2003 in honor of Yamazaki's 80th Anniversary. Limited to 5000 bottles this is a blend of 15-year old Yamazaki Puncheon and 40-year old Yamazaki Mizunara.

Arita and Kutani are the pre-eminent ceramic houses in Japan, both located on the island of Kyushu. From 2001 till 2014 each house designed a decanter, which was hand-painted and bottled with Suntory’s exceptional Hibiki 21 years old.

This is the Hibiki Aritayaki 2008 release, limited to 700 decanters.

Yamazaki 1983, bottled in 2003 for the 20th Anniversary of Royce, a high-end Japanese chocolate manufacturer. This very special limited edition Yamazaki has aged on Sherry casks and would be comparable to the legendary 1982 and 1983 Sherry Wood releases.

The story of Whitwhams 1853 Millennium Port: “Some Douro farmers have hidden treasures. Old Ports that lay in cask, undisturbed in family cellars throughout generations, sometimes crossing several centuries. This rare wine was produced by the Cavaleiro family in the Upper Douro to celebrate the coronation of King Pedro V of Portugal, in the middle of the XIXth century. Just over one pipe of this wine has lain undisturbed in the same family hands ever since. After nearly one and a half century in the cask, the time has come for the wine to be bottled and for it to be enjoyed in the 21st century, the new Millennium. The wine finally made its way down the Douro in February 2001 and was bottled by Niepoort in their Vila Nova de Gaia lodges.”
