Corio was Australia's largest producer of something they referred to as whisky. Unfortunately the quality was not as one would expect and eventually the distillery closed down in the 1980's. This bottle is an early one, bottled November 1947 and as such extremely rare.

Since it's introduction in 1874 Louis XIII de Rémy Martin, initially known as Age Inconnu, has been Rémy's most prestigious cognac, a blend composed of 1200 different Grande Champagne cognacs matured between 40 and 100 years, bottled in a decanter which was shaped after a 16th century metal flask found on a Jarnac battlefield in 1850 which was purchased by Rémy Martin.

Between 1874 and 1920 Rémy Martin Age Inconnu was sold in glass decanters from Verrerie Royale de Saint Louis in Münzthal but these reproductions were far from perfect and as such the production was entrusted to Cristallerie de Baccarat from 1920 onwards.

This Remy Martin Louis XIII Brand Rarest Reserve was bottled for the USA, imported by Joseph H. Renfield Inc. after July 1938 but before June 1940. Delivered in a very rare red velvet box with a 1938 Royal Banquet card.

The cognac contained in Timeless is a unique blend created from the 11 most exceptional years of the 20th century. Each has been selected from Hennessy's "Grandes Réserves" stocks, the largest reserves of old eaux-de-vie in the world. In total 2000 decanters were released.

Camus Camus Cuvée 3.128 is a 2008 limited release of 3068 handcrafted Serge Mansau Baccarat decanters, containing a blend of three different eaux-de-vie from the fins bois district which are aged 41, 43 and 44 years respectively; summed up they give the number 128.

Camus Tradition Baccarat is a limited release from around 1985, a hommage to 120 years passed by since the founding of the company. The Cognac itself is carefully selected from the oldest Camus family reserves.

A background note of matchstick character is present on the ripe citrus, spiced green apple and airy white flower aromas. There is good if not massive size and weight to the rich, fleshy and mouth coating large-scaled flavors that evidence obvious power while brimming with minerality on the almost painfully intense and sneaky long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. As is often the case with the Coche Corton-Charlemagne, it is built for the very long-term and it wouldn't surprise me if 20 years was necessary to see this at its full maturity. (Burghound 96).

In 1870 the founders Eugène Lapostolle is forced to leave Paris, this due to the French-German war, and he ends up in Charente. Back in Paris with a stock of Fine Champagne Cognac his assistant Louis-Alexandre Marnier starts blending this Cognac with orange liqueur and around 1880 he has perfected the recipe for a liqueur which he named Curaçao Marnier.

It was in 1892 that César Ritz tasted this liqueur and recommended his friend to change this name to Grand Marnier to emphasize its grand nature and as such Grand Marnier was born.

This is the old presentation of Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, bottled in 1989.

For the third installment, Irish designer David McMillan is appointed.
