Suntory Yamazaki Sougyou 1899 is a 1983 special release to celebrate the 60th year of Suntory being involved in whisky. Yamazaki was built in 1923 allthough it did not produce spirit until 1924.  The 1899 refers to the opening of Torii Shoten, Torii Shinjiro's wine shop and start of what would become Suntory

Suntory released this giftbox in 2023 to celebrate their centennial. The 180ml bottle does contain a very special blend containing 30-year old Mizunara plum malt and Spanish Oak malt to name a few.

Suntory Pure Malt 10 years old, green label for the Japanese domestic market, bottled between 1995 and 1998. This is of course a Yamazaki product but in those days not yet marketed as such.

This Yamazaki 1993 Pure Malt Tarudashi (straight from the barrel) Gensyu (original spirit) is a discontinued distillery-exclusive bottling. The neck label says Winter 1993 so we assume this was distilled in the last part of 1993.

Yamazaki The Smokey Batch is a 2023 Limited Edition, a heavily peated whisky which is a rarity for Suntory.

The Yamazaki Story of the Distillery 2024 Edition is a limited edition single malt whisky from the Yamazaki Distillery in Japan. This is essentially the ‘Yamazaki Limited Edition 2024,’ a continuation of the Yamazaki Limited Edition series that has been released every year. Released in May 2024, it commemorates the distillery’s rich history and its exciting future.

This special bottling is a blend of Yamazaki’s distinctive malt whiskies, including those matured in both Mizunara (Japanese oak) and Spanish oak casks. This combination creates a complex and rich flavour profile. The whisky itself has a reddish-amber colour, suggesting the deep and mature character within.

Suntory introduced Hibiki in April 1989, released to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the company.  The NAS premium blend at 43% ABV carried a suggested retail price of ¥10,000. Designated as “a masterful blend of specially aged whiskies with a mature full-bodied taste” on the front, the back label further elaborates that the contents are a mix of 30 different whiskies. The unique bottle, with its 24 facets that reflect the hours in the day as well as all the ‘small seasons’ in the year, sported a medallion, a gold cap stopper, all packaged in a luxurious box.  

Hibiki 17 years old was launched in 1994, as replacement for the nas version which however contained the exact same whisky.

Launched in 1991 as a new type of whisky, Smokey & Co. was distinguished by its label featuring five laughing dogs. It was available in three varieties: Natural Mellow with a gold label, Super Smokey with a burgundy label, and Fine Mint in a green bottle. This is the complete set.

Martell Cordon Bleu was created in 1912 by Edouard Martell and first launched at Monte Carlo's Hotel de Paris. Cordon Bleu was the first post-phylloxera Cognac released by Martell, a X.O quality containing 100 different eau-de-vie aged 10 to 25 years of which around 50% Borderies.

This Martell Extra Baccarat, bottled for Associated Liquor Distributors Ltd. in the 1960/70's. In those days the volume did change from 40-44%, on this particular bottle it has not been revealed.

Arita and Kutani are the pre-eminent ceramic houses in Japan, both located on the island of Kyushu. From 2001 till 2014 each house designed a decanter, which was hand-painted and bottled with Suntory’s exceptional Hibiki 21 years old.

To Commemorate Mount Fuji, the highest peak in Japan, getting added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 2013, Suntory released this hand painted special edition limited edition of 2000 decanters in 2014.

Hennessy Diptyque is a high-end 2008 Travel Retail exclusive from Hennessy which was initially only available at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Nice Côte d’Azur airports. A very interesting duo of 50cl bottles of Hennessy, featuring two differing styles of cognac: one bottle is entitled ‘Subtle Strength’ while the other is ‘Robust Character’. Hennessy Diptych enables you to compare these contrasting styles and experiment in the glass to create your own perfect blend.

This engraved Nikka 12 year old Master Blender's Blended Whisky was part of Nikka's 70th Anniversary Selection, released in 2004. This set contained a Nikka 12 year old Coffey Grain, a 12 year old Miyagikyo and a 12 year old Yoichi, all bottled at 58% and finally this Master Blender's which is a composition of the 3 expressions.

Nikka Tsuru, Japanese for Crane, is a blended whisky containing Yoichi and Miyagikyo. The ‘Father of Japanese Whisky’ Masataka Taketsuru died in 1979 having changed the industry indelibly. One of the very last expressions he personally worked on was this Tsuru 17 year old blend. This is the white ceramic decanter.

Cuvée Dom Pérignon Réserve de l'Abbaye, also known as Dom Pérignon Gold or simply Gold Réserve, is a stand-alone series in the Dom Pérignon range released exclusively for the Japanese Market. Branded as an ultra-deluxe product, it undergoes about twenty years of extended ageing on the lees - longer than the ageing of Dom Pérignon Plénitude 2.

Named after the Abbaye d’Hautvillers where Dom Pierre Pérignon was cellarmaster from 1668 until his death in 1715. It is unknown how many bottles of this rare vintage have been produced but they are extremely scarce.
