This is the 1st edition of Suntory The Whisky, with wooden stopper, sold between 1977 and 1988, this Japanese blended whisky was composed entirely of domestically distilled spirits, Yamazaki malt with an average age of 30 years, the finest single malt from Hakushu, aged in different types of casks, subtly vatted with grain whisky from Chita distillery. The porcelain decanter has been produced in the Japanese town Arita.

Born from the idea of the writer Kaiko Ken during the era of Suntory's second president, Keizo Saji, this whisky was aimed to be the "greatest blended whisky in human history," a goal that was unmatched anywhere else in the world. Once a year, an ultra-aged Yamazaki malt was selected from the secret reserves, and the finest spirit chosen that year was used."

This Aritayaki decanter is a replica of the colored Nabeshima (Honjio octagonal plate) owned by the Suntory Museum of Art. Bottled with a special blend containing malt & grain whisky which has aged over 17 years, this was a 2001 limited release. Total weight: 1268 grams.

This Aritayaki decanter is an exact replica of the Qingyun Gabun manuscript, a masterpiece from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Bottled with a special blend containing malt & grain whisky which has aged over 20 years.

This Aritayaki nipple-shaped Tokkuri decanter was released in 1995, containing a 20-year old special blend of carefully selected malt and grain whiskies. The decanter itself is decorated with the characters Fuku and Kototo.

This Aritayaki Peony Arabesque is a gourd-shaped bottle decorated with a traditional pattern that combines Arabesque and peony flowers, the latter much loved in China since the Tang dynasty (618-907). Inside the Arabesque and sword tip patterns, the auspicious character for Kototo is inlaid in red.

Produced at the Iwao Tsuyama kiln, released in 1996, containing a special whisky blend which has been aged more than 20 years.

This is the first edition Suntory Aritayaki, released in 1992, containing a special blended whisky which has been aged for more than 22 years. The heavy square decanter depicts a festive phoenix, decorated with peonies and plums.

Suntory President's Choice was selected and blended by Keizo Saji, born in Osaka in 1919 as the second son of Shinjiro Torii, founder of Kotobukiya. He became president of Kotobukiya in 1961, and officially renamed it to Suntory Limited in 1963, paying tribute to the success of Suntory Whisky a.k.a. Kakubin.

This decanter was commissioned in 1989 to commemorate Suntory's 90th anniversary.
