It is the former ancestral seat of the Clan Grant chiefs of Strathspey in Highlands, Scotland.

In 2006 Diageo surprised their employees with a decanter commissioned to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Kilmarnock Distillery. This decanter was filled with a '1820' blend which we believe is the same found in this bottle.
