American Cowboy Little Barrel is a boutique bourbon brand owned by Palatella family in California, whose other products include Very Olde St. Nick, Wattie Boone and the Rare Perfection bottles.

This limited-edition single malt from Ardbeg distillery – Drum – was released for Ardbeg Day, during Feis Ile 2019. Matured in ex-bourbon casks and rested in ex-rum casks, this is a funky, flamboyant whisky. The nose is full of ripe banana, pineapple, cocoa and woodsmoke aromas, with hints of fresh ginger, cinnamon and lavender developing slowly. The palate offers notes of black pepper, ginger, clove and liquorice, alongside dark chocolate, rich smoke and vanilla. An intensely smoky, fruity dram, Ardbeg Drum is the perfect way to celebrate Feis Ile.

Released Spring 2015 this is a masterful union of well-bred bourbons. The first, a spicy bourbon with a mash bill favoring rye, barrel aged for a subtle woodiness. This, artfully braided with a smooth, but never soft, wheated bourbon of memorable curves. Finally, a more experienced, oaky bourbon with a rye-based mash. None overpowers the other, agreeing to co-exist in harmony.
