Whitwhams 1853 Millennium Port King Pedro V Royal Reserve
The story of Whitwhams 1853 Millennium Port: “Some Douro farmers have hidden treasures. Old Ports that lay in cask, undisturbed in family cellars throughout generations, sometimes crossing several centuries. This rare wine was produced by the Cavaleiro family in the Upper Douro to celebrate the coronation of King Pedro V of Portugal, in the middle of the XIXth century. Just over one pipe of this wine has lain undisturbed in the same family hands ever since. After nearly one and a half century in the cask, the time has come for the wine to be bottled and for it to be enjoyed in the 21st century, the new Millennium. The wine finally made its way down the Douro in February 2001 and was bottled by Niepoort in their Vila Nova de Gaia lodges.”

Krug Clos de Mesnil 1979
Krug Clos du Mesnil, a very rare Champagne, showcases the unique character of a single plot of Chardonnay, harvested in a single year. This 1.84 hectare vineyard overlooked by the village church has been protected by walls since 1698. The vineyard is located in the heart of Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most iconic villages for Chardonnay in the Champagne region.

In 1979, the Krug brothers decided to make a Champagne created exclusively from grapes of this Clos and this single year. Krug Clos du Mesnil 1979 was born at a time when the conventions in Champagne concentrated on blending multiple wines from varied plots.

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Musigny Blanc 2018
The 2018 Musigny Vieilles Vignes Blanc Grand Cru, which is aged in 20% new oak, is lucid silver in color. Its gorgeous bouquet features scents of lemon thyme, mirabelle, orange zest and touches of crushed stone, conveying energy and tension. A menthol note emerges with time in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with peach, lemon curd, almond and praline notes. Not exotic but sensual and beautifully defined.
