To Commemorate Mount Fuji, the highest peak in Japan, getting added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List in 2013, Suntory released a hand painted special edition limited edition of 2000 decanters in 2014.

This is the 2nd edition, bottled in 2015 and again limited to 2000 decanters.

The Arita and Kutani ceramic decanters were an annual limited release from Suntory, bottled between 2001 and 2014. Each one contains their exceptional Hibiki 21 year old blend, which contains malt from their Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, and grain from the Chita distillery. Arita and Kutani are the pre-eminent ceramic houses in Japan, both located on the islad of Kyushu. Each year, both houses designed a decanter each, and they are all hand-painted.

Suntory introduced Hibiki in April 1989, released to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of the company.  The NAS premium blend at 43% ABV carried a suggested retail price of ¥10,000. Designated as “a masterful blend of specially aged whiskies with a mature full-bodied taste” on the front, the back label further elaborates that the contents are a mix of 30 different whiskies. The unique bottle, with its 24 facets that reflect the hours in the day as well as all the ‘small seasons’ in the year, sported a medallion, a gold cap stopper, all packaged in a luxurious box.  

Hibiki 17 years old was launched in 1994, as replacement for the nas version which however contained the exact same whisky. This is the 2nd edition, with a golden front label.

The 2022 Mizunara Cask from Yamazaki is inspired by Tsukuriwake, a philosophy of artisanship through diversity. This series unveils the individual elements that make Yamazaki whisky, from the casks that it matures in to the malt that it is made from.

Suntory Very Rare Old liqueur Whisky, bottled in the 1950's. This is often referred to as Kakubin which is the Japanese word for 'square bottle'. Production started in 1937 as a 12-year old expression and pretty it soon became the #1 whisky in Japan.

This giftbox was released in 2007 to commemorate the brand's 80th anniversary. The content: 2 bottles 450ml and a number of collectible pins.

This Aritayaki decanter was released in 1989 to commemorate Suntory 90th anniversary. What exactly has been used to fill the decanter is unknown, one would expect Hibiki, introduced that very same year for exactly the same occasion, but until proven it remains 'just' a blended whisky.

Suntory Nazo Kaoru was bottled August 7th 2003 for the Japan Association of Mystery/Detective Novelists. This 15-year old secret whiskey was selected and blended by Kaoru Takamura, a Japanese writer from Osaka.

Hibiki was introduced in 1989, initially as a nas version containing 30 different malt whiskies which was later changed to a recipe containing a blend of 36 malt whiskies with an ag statement of 17 years, meaning the youngest component in the blend aged that long. Hibiki 21 first appeared in 1994 and, due to a temporarily shortage, it was announced as being discontinued but in fact it remained in production after all.

This Hibiki 21-years old decanter was released in 2001 for the 15th anniversary of Crown Plaza ANA Kyoto hotel.

Back in 1876 Alexander Graham Bell was awarded the first U.S. patent for the invention of the telephone. In 1890 the first telephone line between Tokyo and Yokohama became active. In 1990 Suntory honored the 100th anniversary of this event with the release of a black ceramic decanter shaped after the iconic Table Telephone No.2 which was launched in 1906 but apparently it took until 1927 until they found there way to Japan.

Yamazaki 1983, bottled in 2003 for the 20th Anniversary of Royce, a high-end Japanese chocolate manufacturer. This very special limited edition Yamazaki has aged on Sherry casks and would be comparable to the legendary 1982 and 1983 Sherry Wood releases.

The Hakushu distillery is owned by the Suntory group, and situated in the Toribara locality of the former town of Hakushu, in the Yamanashi Prefecture, Chubu region, Japan.

This is a special one containing Hakushu, bottled in 1996 in a red Arita-yaki Arabesque decanter with the Kanji character 寿 imprinted. This stands for the mythological creature kotobuki, a hybrid chimera consisting of parts of all the animals found in the Chinese zodiac.
