Since it’s introduction in 1874 Louis XIII de Rémy Martin has been Rémy’s most prestigious cognac, a blend composed of 1200 different cognacs which each matured in wood between 60 and 100 years, bottled in a decanter which was shaped after a ancient Venetian bottle which was found on a Jarnac battlefield in the late 19th century. From 1936 the glass decanter was replaced by a crystal version produced by Baccarat. The production of Rémy Martin Louis XIII is limited to 10.000 bottles p.a.

Description

Rémy Martin is one of the four biggest Cognac houses, founded in 1724 by French winemaker Rémy Martin. Until the 1920’s Rémy Martin played a modest role in the world of Cognac but this changed with the introduction of Rémy Martin VSOP in 1927. Cognac Rémy Martin contains only grapes from the two most appraised terroirs: Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne.
